POLLS CLOSE FOR THE FIVE PARLIAMENTARY BY-ELECTIONS POLLS have closed in the five parliamentary by-elections in Solwezi Central, Zambezi West, Mkushi South Kasenengwa and Vubwi constituencies. Polling stations opened at 06:00 hours and closed at 18:00 hours and counting is under way. The campaigns leading to today’s by-elections have been largely peaceful with no incident of violence reported. Meanwhile, opposition Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) has observed that the apathy experienced in today’s polls is due to fatigue of voters in the five constituencies.
