POSITION: Manager - Packaging /Product Development Company: A leading Business Group in Tanzania Location Daressalaam ROLE BRIEF The Packaging /Product Development Manager has overall responsibility for all the packaging and new product development requirements for the Oral, Personal, Hair care and other FMCG products. The individual must have an understanding of processing techniques and packaging and the interaction between product and packaging. The Packaging /Product Development Manager will have comprehensive experience across all streams relating to packaging, with a basic understanding of cosmetic/personal care properties to identify new packaging opportunities, the sourcing of packaging materials, the ability to investigate processing techniques and establish product stability and shelf life. The individual will also possess knowledge of the legal and regulatory guidelines to ensure products are developed in line with legislation. Job Purpose The Packaging /Product Development Manager will develop and/or renovate packaging to match or exceed the new product development brief by interpreting local and international packaging trends, utilizing resources both internally and externally and ensuring technical expertise with regard to new and existing packaging. Critical Focus Areas Create documented and approved product, packaging specifications Evaluate the feasibility and viability of changing current packaging and processes Make up concepts to the business for final approval Change implementation verifying sustainability New Packaging Development o Attend project team meetings and identify packaging initiatives and opportunities o Gathering and processing of data relating to new product developments trends o Sourcing of new packaging materials Factory Trials o Assist the team with setting up specifics o Co-ordinate the project team members o Conduct various tests i.e. stack and travel Value Analysis o Conduct value analysis regarding packaging costs o Complete procedural documentation Desired Skills and Experience Minimum Qualifications Diploma / Degree in Packaging Technology or related qualification Experiences required to perform in the role 5 Years in Packaging Development environment Project Management experience Comprehensive experience across all streams of packaging We can only consider candidates who come from the FMCG Consumables Industry Technical and Functional skills Project Management Processing and packaging techniques Analytical and numerical skills Detail conscious FMCG Manufacturing experience Salary Net : Handsome Tax Free Salary USD + Benefits: Passage, Furnished accommodation, Transport, Medical , Annual Leave We shall be very much thankful in case if you can help us out in locating such candidate.
