*****POSSIBLE WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINFALL ALONG THE NEW SOUTH WALES COAST AND SOUTH EAST COAST OF QLD THE NEXT WEEK. FEEL FREE TO SHARE/TAG WITH FAMILY***** Models continue to firm on the belief that heavy rainfall will impact most of the NSW coast next week and perhaps south east coast of QLD. There are some predictions some areas especially about the north coast of NSW around Coffs Harbour, Lismore, Ballina, Port Macquarie way may see 200-350mm of rain accumulated between now and the end of next week. Heavy falls may extend to the south coast of NSW with 100-200mmm possible and also about the Gold coast of QLD seeing similar falls. This is thanks to a high anchored in the Tasman sea a series of upper troughs which will form deep surface trough near the coast and a possible surface low developing, if the surface low develops and it is close to the coast there is a chance even heavier rainfall may fall. Either way it looks extremely wet anywhere from Brisbane to Eden in NSW. This pattern is more reminiscent of February/March instead of August. If these type of rainfall occurs expect some flooding, We may see flood watches issued by the BOM over the coming days for these areas and remember IF FLOODED FORGET IT or as they say in the states TURN AROUND DONT DROWN. We will keep you informed in how this develops over the next few days. - JWC Image one: All models mashed up together and coming out with an average rainfall predicted scenario for the next week in millimetres Image two: GFS model rainfall prediction for the next week in millimetres.
