POST 1 DYSPLASIAS Dys = disordered Plassein = to form Micromelia :short limb Rhizomelia : short proximal part of limb Mesomelia :short intermediate part of limb Acromelia : short distal part of limb Para-axial hemimelia (partial and complete)=defective one of the forearm or leg bones , Oligodactyly = number is small Hypoplasia =underdeveloped Synostosis = fused SKELETAL DYSPLASIA COULD BE LETHAL BUT MOST ARE NOT LETHAL as achondogenesis , thanatophoric & asphyxiating thoracic dysplasia. NON-LETHAL 1-APPENDICULAR INVOLVING EPIPHYSES: Dysplasia epiphysealis multiplex & hemimelica .And familial hip dysplasia. INVOLVING METAPHYSES: Metaphyseal dysplasia e.g.,Jansen & Schmid.And with increased bone density as Pyle dysplasia & cranio-metaphyseal dysplasia. INVOLVING DIAPHYSES :progressive diaphyseal dysplasia(Englemann).And with increased bone density as endosteal hyperostosis. SHORT LIMB : Chondroectodermal dysplasia ,and Osteochondrodysplasias e.g., Achondroplasia group 2-APPENDICULAR and AXIAL SKELETON a-Spondylo-epiphyseal dysplasia b- Spondylo-metaphyseal dyplasia c-Dysostosis multiplex group MPS 3-DYSPLASIA with membranous bone involvement Cleidocranial dysplasia & cranioectodermal dysplasia 4-DYSPLASIA with decreased bone density Osteogenesis imperfecta 5-DYSPLASIA with defective meniralization Hypophosphatasia 6-DYSPLASIA with increased bone density Ostepetrosis , Pyknodysostosis, Osteopathia striata Melorheostosis, Osteopoikilosis 7-DYSPLASIA with disorganized development : Fibrous dysplasia 8-DYSPLASIA of patella : Patella – nail syndrome
