POST OFFICE, PACKAGES, and SHERIFF’S OFFICE Monday’s are always busy and today ranked “off the chart!” Last week, happily I made an earlier ferry boat then planned. That meant half an hour to shop before my appointment on the main land. With Easter approaching, I was especially happy, I ran to the GAP to find clothes for my daughter Adrienne. We love to shop here, in Lynnwood, WA and when meeting in New York City on business trips. Feast or famine at the GAP, I projected a smorgasbord! When Adrienne was home for Christmas, from her studies in Dublin, Ireland, we did not find any clothes. Luckily, I had purchased her some for Christmas from another favorite, Eddie Bauer. We also planned to do clothes shopping while in Istanbul, Turkey last month, and were busy with other activities. The GAP had tremendous bargains, plus additional Tuesday discounts, and more! Adrienne scored! The summer tops on sale, a collegiate blazer - for teaching, cotton sweaters with a touch of silk, even a sparkly top for performing her many instruments, a final sale! I had so much fun! Another box to pack, a selection of my fabrics for a friend on the east coast; I enjoyed packing both, adding other little Easter goodies. Michael took both boxes to the Post Office, International rates on the flat rate box, up substantially, my “super savings” at the GAP evaporated. About an hour later, our phone rang; I assumed for Michael, it was the Sheriff’s Office. The women identified herself and told me my VISA card, found in front of the Post Office had just been turned into their office. Michael had mistakenly picked up my credit card, upon realizing; put it in his pocket, apparently falling out as he left. A “Good Samaritan” found the card and walked across the street to the Sheriff’s Office, the Volunteer on duty, recognized my name and called immediately! One of the great benefits of living in a small community! Thank you so much to the person that turned in my credit card!
