Applicants who are not entitled to veterans’ preference may be considered for positions restricted to preference eligible only when preference eligible candidates are not available for appointment. The following is a brief description of what is expected as a PSE (Postal Support Employee). Please see eCareer job posting for full details. 1. Postal Support Employees (PSE) holds temporary appointments for periods not-to-exceed 360 days. Subsequent appointments after a 5-day break in service are not guaranteed and should not be expected. 2. PSE Custodians assist with, and perform a variety of laboring and tasks for a facility and/or grounds. 3. Applicants must be available to work as needed. Work hours are not guaranteed and may vary based on operational needs. 4. Salary $13.25 per hour. 5. Limited benefits include raises, paid vacation days, and access to health insurance “only after” the first 360-day term. 6. Driving: PSE Custodians in various Post Offices will be required to have a valid State Driver’s License, safe driving record and at least 2 years of documented driving experience. SUITABILITY – If reached for consideration, you will be required to pass all pre-employment suitability factors including, but not limited to the following: Employment History background check; Military History; Criminal Conviction History; Drug Screening, Personal Interview and if selected, Medical Suitability.
