POSTBAG NSABATA Editor, Zambia’s goal minder Toaster Nsabata has of late come under some stinging criticism from soccer experts and fans. The young, gifted goalie was quoted in The Post as saying his inexperience cost the national side dearly in their 4-3 loss to Japan. I wish to differ with Nsabata that while experience may be a good attribute, that is not what made him concede. We are supposed to talk about stage fright. If Nsabata had done what he always does at Nchanga week in and week out, I don’t think he would have performed poorly at all. Maybe what Nsabata lacked was proper guidance and psyche against the ‘Hondas and Kagawas’. Nsabata should be told that it is perceived novices like him that turn the world. He should be encouraged to know he can do it. Otherwise, how does one explain how he displaced a massively experienced and talented goalie in M’chelenganga at Nchanga Rangers a year ago? Concerned
