PRAYER MAKES YOU STRONG, FEARLESS AND A CHAMPION FOREVER James 5:16 “.......the earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working..” (Amplified Bible) From the above scripture we see that effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man produces results. Romans 5:17 makes it clear that when you got born again God gave you the gift of righteousness. Therefore you are righteous and qualified to pray and produce results all the time. You will notice that when you begin to make effective and fervent prayer your fellowship with God is excellent and you are able to pick up signals of the Holy Spirit and do right. You will discover peace, protection and help that only God can provide. Psalm 3:1-6 “Lord how they are increased that trouble me! Many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul – there is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou O lord art a shield for me; my glory, my glory and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord SUSTAINED me. I will not be AFRAID of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me all around.” We see from these verses the results of David’s prayer when he was faced with increased trouble and many enemies he was not afraid Prayer drives out fear and makes you bold and strong enough to confront every scheme of wickedness or challenge that satan has lined up against you. Not only will fear not become your portion, God guarantees you if you call on Him in effectual and fervent prayer your enemies will not be able to defeat you; they will even turn back and leave you alone (see verse below). The Hebrew word translated cried in Psalm 3:4 above is ‘qara’ and it also means call, invite, preach, proclaim, say/speak/pronounce. This makes it clear that it is prayer that produces results being referred to in the verse. You need to have the right content in prayer to ensure you see correctly (with spiritual eyes), see yourself in line with God’s Word. See yourself the way God sees you. The way God sees you is shown in His Word. The content of David’s prayer makes it clear that God is his shield (protector) as he faces his enemies. God is the source of David’s glory (victory) and lifter of his head (promotion). God sustains (provides) for David. David cannot possibly be afraid of anything, fear and fear based prayers are not his portion. David sees himself is a victor and not a victim, he sees himself as a champion forever and no weapon can possibly prosper against him. Why? That is the way God saw David. David was chosen to be king (1samuel 16:1) and the spirit of the Lord was upon him giving him supernatural abilities from the day of being chosen (1Samuel 16:13). No wonder David was able to kill a lion and bear with ease (1Samuel 17:34-37) David knew that he was on God’s side and could not possibly lose no matter the size of the challenge (1Samuel 17:45, 1Samuel 17:34-37). You need to meditate on God’s Word and know what He says about you so that you can see and pray correctly. Jeremiah 33:3 Call [pray] to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know, do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand. (Amplified) When you pray God he will reveal to you the great and mighty things that you do not know. What is it that you desire to know? What innovation are you looking for? What mystery or solution do you want revealed to you? Pray to God with effectual fervency of a righteous man and God guarantees to download to your spirit the answer (Luke 11:9). Pray to God in spirit and truth (using the Word of God).
