PRE-THANKSGIVING WINTER STORM UPDATE -- Latest model output via the NAM (short-range American model) is trending toward a similar solution as the European model as it lays a heavy swath of snow during the day on Wednesday into Wednesday night/overnight from around the mountains of West Virginia to Maine. The GFS and Canadian models are playing quite conservative on the snowfall amounts, although the GFS has been consistently showing more of a coastal snowstorm where the European model and now the NAM are suggesting heavier snows across interior parts of the Northeast as well. While model guidance is beginning to bear down on a common solution, there are still plenty of details that need ironed out. As I mentioned before, there are still a tremendous amount of uncertainties behind this storm system. With Wednesday being one of the busiest travel days across the country, this winter storm could prove to be a very messy, pre-Thanksgiving travel day. Please be vigilant and plan your travels accordingly. Have a safety plan in place for those traveling to or around the East Coast. As I said, Ill make a strong push to get a weather video update out tomorrow evening with all the latest, even its from my phone.
