PREMATURE BIRTH Birth occurring before the thirty-seventh week of gestation. Premature birth can occur spontaneously or be caused by medical decision. The causes are many and can be combined: out of the bag containing the amniotic fluid abnormality of the uterus, bleeding, bacterial or viral infection, multiparity (when the mother has already had one or more children), multiple pregnancy (twins or triplets), polyhydramnios (excess amniotic fluid). In addition, unfavorable socio-economic conditions or stressful working conditions (fatigue, long trips) increase the risk of spontaneous premature delivery. The preterm medical decision is made, inter alia, in the event of serious illness on the mother or the fetus, such as preeclampsia or placental abruption can cause placental abruption. The Rh incompatibility between the mother and the fetus can also affect medical decision to shorten pregnancy. In this case, premature delivery is by induction of labor or cesarean practicing.
