PRESS STATEMENT BY REV. JEVAN KAMANGA NATIONAL SECRETARY – NATIONAL RESTORATION PARTY (NAREP) 19TH DECEMBER 2014 MR. CHIPIMO FILED IN SUCCESSFULLY NAREP is a force to be reckoned with and in this Election, political parties will underrate us only at their own peril. Some Media Houses were spreading wrong information that we struggled to raise the 200 supporters. We know that some of these Media Houses have an agenda against us. Anyway, it doesn’t matter. In the first place, Mr. Elias Chipimo Jr filed in his nomination with about 1 hour to spare. If you check with ECZ, our President was declared to have filed his nomination papers successfully at 13h49. We had a slight logistical challenge which is normal in any organization but it had nothing to do with the people or lack of supporters. Secondly, as NAREP, we are very much aware of political parties that had to pay people to go and support them while others have had to appeal for supporters through Public Media. At the time of our concluding of our filing in, we had over 500 people. All our supporters came from our structures from all the seven constituencies in Lusaka and none of them was paid to support us. As a Party of values, even in the midst of corrupt politics, we will not lower our pursuit in stopping electoral corruption and we’ll maintain our resolve of going back to campaigns that are corruption free. NAREP will not lower its standards to try and auction or mortgage mother Zambia for the sake of plot 1. Our members and our supporters keep on encouraging us to keep this Mission of leading a country without corrupting anybody. When NAREP wins 20th January 2015 elections, we will deal with electoral corruption and enact a New Constitution where the issue of Electoral Freedom is being upheld. We want to appeal to all Media Houses to be professional in the way they report matters because they are the ones who are tasked to inform the nation correctly on matters that affect mother Zambia. NAREP is represented in close to 80 Districts in Zambia, in 93 Constituencies and in all the 10 Provinces in Zambia. We know exactly where we are and where we are going. Finally, I want to urge the people of Zambia to VOTE for Mr. Elias Chipimo who is a Christian and a Preacher in his Church, International Church of Christ and of all that are contesting, he is a man with a vision for Zambia and he means well for all especially with his mission of “Economic Freedom For Every Zambia.” A Heart for the People.
