PRIME MINISTER MEETS BALUCHISTAN MPAs Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that nomination of Mamnoon Hussain as Presidential candidate is a sign of PML (N)’s federal vision through which it has brought the smaller province into mainstream. The Prime Minister said that the boycott of Presidential elections by PPP is against the democratic norms and they should not have boycotted the elections. “Sportsman spirit demands that they should have contested election”, he added. Prime Minister said that the previous schedule of Presidential election fell on 27th Ramadan, which is a religious occasion. The change of date should be acceptable to all as still enough time is still available for campaigning, he said. He appreciated the role of PTI which had decided to contest elections and said that it will strengthen the democratic culture in the country. The Prime Minister said this while speaking to a delegation of Senators and MPA’s of Baluchistan Assembly who called on him at his office. Prime Minister while expressing his view on Baluchistan said that “Construction and development of a new Baluchistan is my priority and I will develop special development package for this region”. Prime Minister said that Gawadar Port is a key to development of Pakistan and especially Baluchistan. Gawadar will be connected with China through Kashghar-Khunjrab- Gawadar Road Project the Prime Minister added. This project will usher Balochistan into a new era of development and prosperity. The Prime Minister while sharing his vision for overcoming power shortage in Baluchistan said that installing small and affordable Solar Energy panels is a solution to the scattered population of Baluchistan, where it is difficult to lay long distribution lines. The Prime Minister ordered to carry out feasibility of this project, so that such project can be initiated in Baluchistan. Prime Minister, while briefing the MPAs on his recent visit to China told that our government has adopted a policy of trade and investment instead of grants and aid. Chinese government has agreed to invest in many sectors in Pakistan especially the power and communication sectors, he told. Two major projects in which Chinese government has shown interest are Kashghar-Gawadar Economic Corridor and Lahore-Karachi Motorway, he told. Pakistan will make special trade zones along the Khunjrab-Gawadar road project, which will benefit the whole country. China may also relocate their industry into Pakistan to make their product more cost effective. This will provide more job opportunities to our youth, the PM told. The meeting was attended by Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, Presidential Candidate of PML (N), Mr. Nawab Sana Ullah Khan Zehri, President PML (N) Balochistan, Lt General Abdul Qadir Baloch Minister SAFRON, Dr. Asif Kirmani Political Secretary to PM, Sardar Yaqoob Nasr, Senator and MPAs of Baluchistan Assembly.
