PROCEED-Caribbean The Promotion of Capacity and Energy Education Development in the Caribbean Region (PROCEED-Caribbean) is a joint project between the Finland Futures Research Centre of the University of Turku, The University of the West Indies and other educational institutions in Finland and the Caribbean. The overall objective of the project is to increase capacity and knowledge through improved higher education on energy related issues in order to: a) facilitate the integration of sustainable development and poverty reduction goals to national policies; b) enhance capabilities responsive to labour market needs and which contribute to efficient national energy policy planning; and c) facilitate regional cooperation in energy policy through institutional networking. This week of activities will expose various stakeholders in Barbados to energy systems modelling and some of the work being completed by the Barbados team, particularly in the area of long run energy systems modelling. All are invited.
