PSALMS Chapter 141 – TERESA’S EASY RENDITION (Psalm of David) 1 O Jehovah, I call on You. Hurry to me! Listen to me when I call to You. 2 May my prayer be offered as incense before You, and the lifting of my hands as evening grain offering. 3 Post a guard on my mouth, O Jehovah. Set a watch over the door of my lips! 4 Don’t let my heart be inclined to do any evil, neither to join the evildoers in doing notorious deeds, nor to eat their delicacies. 5 Should the righteous strike me, I’ll take it as kindness. Should they rebuke me, I’ll consider it as oil on my head, which I wouldn’t resist. I would even pray for them when they’re in trouble. 6 When their judges have been thrown over the cliff, they’ll listen to my words, for they’re pleasant. 7 Just as when one plows and breaks up the soil, so will our bones be scattered at the mouth of the grave. 8 But my eyes are focused on You, O Sovereign Lord Jehovah. In You I take refuge. Don’t hand me over to death. 9 Keep me from the clutches of the trap laid for me, from the traps of the evildoers. 10 The wicked altogether will fall into their own nets, while I walk away (unscathed).
