PUPPY ALERT! And here we have yet another puppy who ends up in a cage at Manhattan ACC having no clue why or what he’s supposed to do. We learn from his owner that they got him from a “breeder” though its more than likely we’re talking about a back yard breeder and more than likely that Khaos never got to spend quality time with his mom to learn those manners all pups need. But he’s housetrained, leash trained, knows some commands, loves to play and is reportedly good with stranger. If you look at his behavioral eval, all that info is borne out as he scored 1’s and 2’s on all but the dog on dog item. There, Khaos showed that he needs a bit of work on how to approach new dogs. But folks, this is a PUPPY! Pups aren’t born knowing how to behave—they need their mamma or their human to teach them. ACC has already written Khaos off and they’ve put him on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. Tonight, Khaos needs a puppy savvy person who understands that at 9 months, that smiling guy can learn how he’s supposed to behave to become a great grown up dog. Tonight, he needs that person to start applying to rescues to foster or adopt him. Tonight, Khaos needs someone who knows in their heart that this puppy deserves to be with us for his first birthday.
