Page 24 Don Smith jasell woke the next morning and hurried through her chores.coal dust had to pull the cart in the morning. so she thought they would have some fun in the corral .jasells mother toqua Nina wanted to watch them from the porch .she had not been outside in awhile...the day was perfect it was blue skies and a warm fall day.jasell let coal dust out of his stall and when he heard toqua nia whistle he lifted his head and tail high and nieghed as he bolted by the chickens scattering them everywhere followed by angry clucks from the hens.he came up to toqua nia and put his head in her lap so she could scratch behind his ears which made him turn his head sideways making jasell and toque nia laugh..jasell took coal dust to the corral it was a low wall of coal and a wood split rail fence on top.nugget the family cow had been milked and was heading to the meadow.jasell grabbed a long whip and walked to the center of the ring.jasell used the whip to guide coal dust through their routine.. she gave the whip a snap and coal dust centers in a circle.then he came to the center and reared up turning in a circle while jasell turned in circles too.next jasell whistled and coal dust broke into a run .he ran by jasell and she grabbed his mane and jumped on then she jumped off stood beside coal dust and they sidestepped to the left then the right forwards then backwards.she jumped back on and did lead changes and half halts.jasell looked over at her mother standing on the porch smiling and her blue eyes shining.as jasell was looking at her mother.she felt coal dust stiffen half rear and screamed a stallions threat shaking his whole body. and then jasell saw him coming around the corner of the house.a man riding a red stallion almost as big as coal dust..goodnight more tomorrow
