Paranormal If most of what we deal with is really xenonormal, - TopicsExpress

Paranormal If most of what we deal with is really xenonormal, where is the real, genuine paranormal? When we remove all the xenonormal items from the cases we investigate, there sometimes remains a small residue of unexplained events. Unexplained does not necessarily equate to paranormal. Some of this residue may simply be xenonormal that is yet to be identified. But, of course, there could still be genuine paranormal phenomena somewhere in the residue too. The trouble is, it is difficult to see the genuine paranormal when there is so much xenonormal stuff around, confusing everything. Unless we can clear the xenonormal out of the way, we will never see the real paranormal. Unfortunately, many people seem happily convinced that xenonormal phenomena are really paranormal. For instance, despite the overwhelming evidence that orbs have a mundane explanation, some people seem either unaware of this or choose to ignore it. A New Approach All of this suggests a new approach to paranormal research – study the xenonormal! If we thoroughly understood all the unfamiliar phenomena masquerading as the paranormal, we could quickly eliminate them from our research. This would leave more time to study the exciting ‘residue’ that may contain genuine paranormal phenomena. There are other useful benefits to this approach. Since we will be dealing with the unfamiliar, rather than the completely unknown, we should get reproducible and testable results. Unlike the paranormal, it is certain that definite progress can be made in the xenonormal. By studying orbs, for instance, (a) we can stop future researchers wasting their time on the subject and (b) we can discover useful methods of photographic analysis that may be applicable elsewhere. Compare that with paranormal study, which has barely progressed in over a century. It also perfectly possible that, in the course of our studies, we will come across some genuinely paranormal phenomena. Paranormal too! Some people will argue that they are only interested in the ‘genuine paranormal’, not the xenonormal, however unfamiliar. For them, there will be modules aimed purely at paranormal topics. The two strands will run in parallel and will be complementary.
