Parent story x Hi Id like to share my story. My husband and I had been trying for a baby for 3years with no joy then on Boxing Day of 2011 we discovered the amazing news I was pregnant. My pregnancy wasnt exactly straight forward suffering from terrible morning sickness and unable to stomach food at one point, had my 12week scan and all seemed ok everyone was happy. Suddenly my bump stopped growing and I felt lousy. My midwife became concerned over the weeks as my baby wasnt growing. Went for my 20week scan and was told baby is fine, no concerns, still not happy I kept a close eye on things. At 26 weeks my baby decided to try and arrive, thankfully my waters hadnt broke and I hadnt lost my plug. After this I was back and forth to the hospital for scans and blood tests. Nothing really changed. Then at 34 weeks we lost a very close friend whom I had been helping care for due to him been seriously ill. The hospital we were worried about the stress this was putting on me and the baby and decided that the week after the funeral the were going to induce me as baby still hadnt grown much. This didnt happen as understandably emergencies took priority. At 37weeks they succeed in setting me off. Thankfully our little girl was born at a healthy 6lb 14oz. 16weeks later we were back in hospital with our little girl an severe breathing difficulties. Apparently it was because during my pregnancy I had picked up a strain of the flu virus which then laid dormant in my daughters respiratory system. 4 days later finally we were home again. Shes now 28months and still small compared to others but she has fought all the way and many trips in and out of hospital. She really is my little miracle
