Parents and coaches of young players, please take note. Rest and recovery are critical (and often overlooked) for sports development and longevity. This doesnt mean sit on the couch for 3 months between seasons or sports, but instead, play a different sport, climb trees, work on strength & conditioning. All too often we push/allow our kids to play one sport all year long and practice, practice, practice; however, we need to remember that even professional athletes get paid lots of money to play only part of the year.
