Parking notice: The OPP is reminding the public not to park their vehicles overnight on the streets during the winter months or else they run the risk having their vehicle ticketed and towed. With the winter months now here the OPP is reminding the public that the parking by-law in Collingwood prohibits parking on town streets or any municipal parking lot between the hours of 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. from Dec. 1 to March 31. This is being done to assist in snow removal which usually takes place overnight. Any vehicle parked on the street or municipal lots will be ticketed and possibly towed and impounded and the owner will be responsible for all towing and storage charges. The Blue Mountains also has a similar by-law where there is no parking allowed on streets and municipal lots between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. from Nov. 1 to April 1 and, just like Collingwood, vehicles can be towed.
