Parliament Summons National Theatre Management The parliamentary committee on Gender, labour and social development has summoned the management of National Theatre to appear before the committee this week and explain how they use the proceeds of the Theatre. The committee chairperson also Nakasongola district woman MP Margaret Komuhangi says the Theater is generating a lot of money but it is not reflected in the policy statement of the Ministry of Gender. Hon Komuhangi says that, MPs want to know who takes the money collected from plays staged in the theatre and the parking yard which is charged per hour. “We also want to interface with the management of National Theatre to explain how they spend the shs240M government gives them annually. We want accountability of the money” Said Hon Komuhangi. The committee also intends to summon the Judicial Service Commission to explain why the industrial court is not functional when Government allocates money to this court every financial year.
