Particularly saddened today by the passing of Rubin Hurricane Carter. I had the good fortune to work for and with Mr. Carter during my time as a law clerk at Beldock, Levine & Hoffman. Mr. Beldock (who was portrayed by David Paymer in the movie of Mr. Carters life, with Denzel Washington in the title role), was generous enough to bring me in to research a few matters related to the civil suit against the state of New Jersey. Mr. Carter could not have been nicer or more responsive to me, and I will always remember him fondly. Rest in peace, Hurricane.
