Paul-Émile Miot: Early Photographs of Newfoundland on until February at the National Gallery of Canada An exhibition showcasing the oldest known photographs from Newfoundland & Labrador. In 1857 Miot, a French naval officer made photographs of the waters and land around Newfoundland and Labrador on behalf of French interests. He also made a series of portraits that would be published in Le Monde illustré, Harper’s Weekly and Illustration.
