Pay it forward the American Way: Critics and supporters’ of mine... I will still be accepting donations to purchase a used car for Carol Jo Nagel until November 22nd, 2013. Call for details 308-230-0195 Today has already been filled with an amazing amount of negative attitudes in Kimball, Neb. I woke up at 5: 30 a.m. and stated walking flyers door to door, to raise additional funds for Carol Jo Nagel, of Kimball, Nebraska. I would tell you that it’s almost heartbreaking that some folks do not get the purpose of this journey we are on, I feel so sorry for those who are lost and have COLD hearts. I have been stopped and asked on multiple occasions now “when are you going to purchase me a car” or help so and so get a car. I have had people kick me off their property, slam the door on me, throw their flyer at me, I even had a guy who walked across the street and put his flyer back on the windshield of my car, did I ever laugh at that and think to myself “crazy nut “guess at least, I could give it to another person... Residents have made remarks that we all are in need, why just help one. I cannot tell you how many folks have said “she will be driving a better car than me” why not give her an older car. “And” I walk away, saying HOLLY CRAP; some folks need to get a grip, and stop thinking, if they were to help; then that person will be better off than they are. “WOW” shocking right. However; I am confident that positive effects from this “Pay it Forward” will be felt by my critics and they too will be amazed in due time. MARK MY WORD. Good breeds good “and “bad breeds bad” and in the end of this GOOD will prevail. I had women who I work with at Cabala’s, walk into my office and shut the door; and proceed to touch my heart, by telling me that she lives pay day to pay day; and only could only give $1.00, however; she truly wanted to be part of the journey, so she too, could feel better about herself. When she left my office, I cried with joy, that I was able to touch her heart and involve her on such a good deed. It has been expressed to me on multiple occasions from some folks that we all struggle to pay our bills or buy items that we need, and I respond by saying “I truly get it”. There was a time in my life, I struggled to feed myself and wasn’t sure what I was going to do, think GOD for my family. Many of us have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet and for those of us that do, we get it that if we want more we must work harder. Keep in mind some folks are not capable of working multiple jobs in order to make additional money. When folks ask me “so why help”, and now I am finding myself on the defensive side, and respond by saying’ it’s bigger than Carol. It’s bout proving multiple things, good or bad. It’s about showing some compassion for somebody who has tried to get ahead and just hasn’t been dealt a good hand in life, however; Carol isn’t setting at home waiting for the hand out. This “Pay it Forward” was not about purchasing a car for Carol; it was about identifying that somebody needed help and pulling together as a community to do the right thing. Not only has this affected Kimball, NE, it has effected 5 other states and numerous of people. As Americans, all too often you witness everyone trying to get ahead of each other. Life shouldn’t be about that. What happened to the days that we pulled together and helped our fallow neighbors and expected nothing? Growing up as a child; I valued and enjoyed the conservations with my grandmother at her kitchen table, when she spoke about how one helped their neighbors; as if they were family. They were always inviting the weak or needy into their home to feed and clothe them, and they had no bad intent, it was the good ole days… WHAT HAPPENED FOLKS. I am not implying that people are not good any more; I am simply saying that there are fewer and fewer by the moment. I am exhausted from explaining this on a daily basis; to those who confront me in public, however; my heart is huge, and my strength is amazing, and I will continue to fight for what I believe in. I will do my very best to try to get more involved and explain how each of us can have a positive effect in our community. God bless, and remember not to judge for it is not our right.
