† Peace That Surpasses All Understanding † The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:5–7 ESV Many saints and martyrs in the past have faced terrible trials and death with a peace in their hearts that no one can explain. Some sang hymns on the way to their execution. They had access to the peace that surpasses all understanding. Today many of us do not have this peace, but it is still available for us. God has not changed His mind and there is still a peace that surpasses all understanding. It is available through prayer. When things begin to overwhelm you, stop and pray. Make your requests known to God. Pray until the peace comes and the stress leaves. Pour your heart out to God as you would your best friend. Be yourself and do not pretend to be Holy and speak in religious biblical terms to impress Him. He knows you better than that. There is a peace that surpasses all understanding. Jesus loves you so much that He traded His life for yours! :)
