Pennsylvania County Rejects In God We Trust Motto The rest of the country should follow this countys lead. I am not anti god or anti religion. I just strongly believe that in a free country people should be entitled to whatever religious or spiritual beliefs they have. Government should not be allowed to impose any religious beliefs on anyone. There are so many different ideas of god in this world that it is absurd to have the motto in god we trust anywhere in this country. Governments endorsement of such a motto makes one wonder exactly whose interpretation of god is it that government trusts in?? Is it a Mormons, a Catholics, a Lutherans, a Presbyterians, an evangelicals, a Mennonites, a Quakers, a Protestants, an Episcopalians, a Jehovahs Witnesss, a Jews, a Muslims, etc. etc. etc.?? Whether you believe in god or not, it is your right as an American, to trust or not trust in any religion you please. Separation of church and state is the only way to promote and maintain religious freedom in a country.
