Pennsylvania Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team (PA-HART): Dunker Training This clips provides an overview of the PA-HART training our military and civilian rescue technician receive to prepare them for an emergency landing in the water. Initial training begins in the classroom and progresses to the final hands-on skills at the pool. Rescue technicians must demonstrate comfort and control during each phase of the training. Skills covered include: swimming, breath holding, cold water postures (Heat Escape Lessening Position (H.E.L.P.) and Huddle), treading water, water entries, Helicopter Emergency Egress Device (HEEDS) operation and use, and Dunker chair drills. Strict safety protocols are established and followed during the training. Safety divers are in place to immediately respond to a problem. This clip will show the immediate response by the divers to a rescue technicians signal for assistance during the Dunker chair drill.
