People rejecting global democracy as utopian - and for sure these - TopicsExpress

People rejecting global democracy as utopian - and for sure these are legion (I met this rejection both with former cabinet members and with radical christian pacifists!) - are in some, limited, ways right, I must admit. Many signs, on earth as in heaven, seem to point towards the opposite direction. The current status of global anarchy (international law is no real law, everyone with eyes must see) seems to be as hard to challenge as ever before. So, isnt then the much more realistic approach to play along in this game of lawlessness, as best (according to my own moral code, of course) as I can? Maybe. But I dont believe so. I think it is an illusion greater than all the others, that anarchy can persist. It must fall, sooner or later, according to its own inherent nature. And the consequenses can only in this very illusion be kept away from my own comfortable backyards. As my life is intertwined with that of the whole Earth, the consequenses of global anarchy already hit me. If global democracy is an utopian idea, to me it still seems 1000 times more realistic than global anarchy.
