People tell me that Ill get better at something if I look at what other people do. If I take classes for what it is I want to get better at. I dont believe them anymore. Taking classes is the starting point. After finishing a class I expect to suck at the task. I wont be good at the task until I have sucked at it for a while and made mistakes and learned from them. You get better at things by doing them. Its the put 10,000 hours into your craft theory. You dont need to put 10,000 hours. You just have to understand that you suck and that sucking is a good thing because by sucking now you will not suck later. I have a few examples. In 1993 Jeff Gordon wrecked more than 10 cars, now hes a four time champion. He sucked then,and now he doesnt suck. So, remember that sucking is the key to success. How long you suck for will depend on several things. If you accept the fact that you suck you will work on it and then you will gain skills. If you think you suck and decide to give up then you will always suck. And if you believe that you dont suck because you have natural talent I task you to prove it to me. Show me work you did years ago that doesnt suck. Remember sucking is the only way you can become better.
