People too often confuse insecurity and shyness with a learning - TopicsExpress

People too often confuse insecurity and shyness with a learning disability. Dr. Z (famous Stanford psychologist and one of my idols!!!) gave me a gem of wisdom some years ago pertaining to the issue of shyness. I am a fan of his work, and his vast understanding of The Shy Child helped me to realise its not something to be understood by the average person, at least not on a compassionate level. He delved into it on a painful level in the book, and if someone of such great intellect can address that aspect of, what is in essence, just individual human nature with compassion and understanding, then it makes perfect sense as to why the average person has such a hard time grasping the concept as a whole. Because obviously its a more esoteric topic than people would like to acknowledge. Its not a grey topic, but most people dont take the time to look to the rainbow in the horizon. Because its not the greys that tell the whole story, but the colours.
