People who think the poor have it easy apparently have never had to rely on welfare and food-stamps to get by. In California, the maximum grant for a FAMILY OF THREE is a paltry $638 per month. If they get food stamps, that adds less than $5 per day per person, and the combination of foodstamps and Temporary Aid to Needy Families is less than 50% of the federal poverty level. How about housing? There hasnt been new housing added for poor families in at least 20 years, and many of the old places were torn down. But they get Medicaid!. Yeah, not in the 22 states that refused Medicaid expansion, they dont. In some states, the maximum income you can have and qualify for Medicaid is 20% of poverty or less. And very, very few doctors accept Medicaid, because the amount the government pays them is so paltry---much less than they pay doctors who take Medicare. So when you think of those welfare queens living high off the taxpayer----think of corporations that outsource jobs and rich folks who park their money overseas instead.
