People who want Agents of SHIELD to be more comic book-y, at least - TopicsExpress

People who want Agents of SHIELD to be more comic book-y, at least in the sense of more comic character cameos, are wrong. Heres why: quick, name a Marvel villain. Congrats, you just named a Spiderman, X-Man, or Fantastic Four villain, and Disney doesnt own any of their film rights. And even if that werent a legal obstacle, the only really good villains that Marvel has belong to the big name heroes. Much as I like the characters in Agents, theyre not standing up to people like Magneto without Magneto being nerfed into unrecognizability. Okay, but what about heroes? Well, the obvious problem is that most of the good ones are taken, and even a lot of the less obvious ones have their own shows/movies in the works. Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Dr Strange, etc. all have their own projects in the works. But the (sadly) less obvious issue with adding heroes is that it makes the main characters second-stringers on their own show. This show should be about these characters, NOT about the Marvel Universe. Because thats how good characters are made. Sure, this team is new and unfamiliar. I say good. Let me watch them grow. Let them have their own victories and defeats. The Marvel universe does not need this show, so the only thing at stake is the show itself. Let it become its own thing, something that can stand alone. Daredevil aint going anywhere, let these Agents grow up a little before putting them next to the heavy hitters. That way, it will actually mean something if/when these characters show up in Avengers 3.
