Per Scholas is expanding into Cincinnati, OH - Per Scholas, a national IT training nonprofit headquartered in New York City with offices in Columbus and Cincinnati, offers free, high quality technology education, job training, placement and career development opportunities to people in underserved communities. Per Scholas Cincinnati seeks a high energy, dynamic and committed Associate Director of Career Development to deliver “life skills” instruction and to lead the admissions and enrollment process. JOB SUMMARY: The Associate Director of Career Development works with students of Per Scholas’ IT-Ready training to ensure they are prepared for success in the workplace after graduation. S/he delivers all aspects of the Per Scholas career development curriculum, as well as the customer service/contact center curriculum. The Associate Director of Career Development has primary responsibility for managing volunteers from the business community, and overseeing the recruitment and enrollment process for prospective students. QUALIFICATIONS: Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Excellent written, presentation, and public speaking skills. Experience working with low-income and diverse populations. Comfortable with classroom management techniques appropriate for a diverse classroom. Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Self-directed, self-motivated, and comfortable with making decisions to adapt processes and curriculum delivery based on current conditions. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is a plus. At least five years experience in career and job development with specific experience with job readiness/life skills training. Demonstrated experience in classroom training and understanding principles of classroom management and diversity. Knowledge of workforce development with a minimum of 2 years experience in the area.
