Perhaps appearing as a raving looney, but please feel free to copy and paste, and send to link below: To whom it may concern: As one may realise, or not, the nation of Scotland is currently debating the issue of independence. It is a hard fought campaign for both sides. More to the point, the company of Grant and Sons, a British producer of whisky (as certain employees of Jack Daniels may be aware), has recently donated 100,000 UK POUNDS to the NO campaign. AS ONE MAY ASSUME, the NO campaign is against SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE. This has served as a painful jab to a society steeped in the creation of the beloved drink, and, as one ay realise, Scotland is a pillar of whiskys rich history. Certain employees of Jack Daniels might also realise that the Whiskey Rebellion, or Whiskey Insurrection, was a tax protest in the United States beginning in 1791, during the presidency of George Washington. In the western counties of Pennsylvania, the Scots-Irish farmers were particularly hard-hit - most were grain growers and many were distillers. Mobs tarred and feathered a tax collector and burned the home of another. Shots (of ammunition) were fired. Essentially, whisky is more than a simple drink; it is a bond shared between our nations. This being stated, and presumably a fact that the Jack Daniels company must surely appreciate, we would ask the company to lend its support to the YES campaign for Scottish Independence, in any capacity that it sees fit. Whisky is, to a certain and respectable degree, the blood of many nations, largely derived from Scottish heritage. This request is obviously unique, and company captains will need to consider the various corporate strategies, international laws and brand implications. What we request from JACK DANIELS is to take part in Scotlands journey to INDEPENDENCE, as the companys major competition has chosen a side.
