Perhaps the biggest disappointment with President Obama is the lost opportunity to improve race relations in America. In the interview with People magazine this week, the first lady referred to an incident in a Target store where a lady asked her for help in getting an item off the shelf. On the David Letterman show last year she described the same encounter as an example of how she was able to shop without being recognized. Michelle Obama described it as a shorter woman who just needed help reaching the item on the shelf. Yet in the interview with People, it was an example of racism in America. Not only has the first African American family to live in the Whitehouse failed to help Americans unite, this serves only to further divide us along racial lines. Which one is it? Was it to help out a shorter person as described last year, or was it an example of racism? Because it cant be both. Best-selling author Deneen Borelli joins me this Saturday with her reaction. people/article/barack-obama-michelle-obama-ferguson-racism-racial-profiling-interview
