Personal Revelation or Personal Delusion: Some people lay - TopicsExpress

Personal Revelation or Personal Delusion: Some people lay claims to God upon some PRIVATE revelation or PERSONAL experience. They lay claims to the fact that they had a somewhat encounter with the divine which in theological verbose is defined as RHEMA. This to me is a weightless argument drawn from either an administered illusion on self or a clear-cut lie. You cannot propound the universality of God and then lay claims to some private encounter as the proof of his existence; it is contradictory in principle of the term UNIVERSAL. Gravity is quintessential of universality, everyone has a fair share of a personal experience with it and none can deny it. Universality is no personal or private revelation. That which is experienced by all personally, ceases to be a private revelation, for it has passed for being universal, e.g. sunshine, day and night, air, etc these are universal experiences and substances. God cannot be defined as universal and claimed by one in a singular experience or encounter. Reason dictates that if youre the only one that is signatory to a particular experience and encounter, its either you are lying, delusioned or probably in dire need of some help. You cannot term your self-acclaimed private revelation and personal encounter as a UNIVERSAL FACT. Your private encounter or revelation isnt peculiar, the schizophrenic and psychotic do have their special private encounters, and you cannot use the basis of your unaccessed status as universal. The only thing universally correct about your case is that it is common place for the mentally disturbed to have certain private revelations. Just because you choose to label yours as God or some connection to the divinity doesnt exclude you from their echelon.
