Pet FB Peeve: Fake Amber Alerts. These are reposted by well-meaning people who frequently dont know how to verify them. The general idea is that its better to repost a fake than to skip a real one. If there is no confirmation either way, I agree - but it isnt all that difficult to take a few seconds to ensure your post at least isnt a known hoax. Fake alerts are not always harmless - they may be using pictures from a true past event (hurting the victims families by keeping the tragedy alive), or simply desensitizing people to genuine emergencies happening so often people begin to perceive anything of this nature as spam - even when it is real and important.
