Pet peeve of mine. Just because someone doesnt ride as well as you, or run as fast as you, or any other superficial judgmental reason you can think of... doesnt mean you should be snide, snippy, ignore they even exist! Why dont you return a smile for once, offer words of support! BE KIND! And Im not talking about myself. Even though I do talk to myself at barrel races, alone, on my horse. I dont ride as well as most around me either. But Im not at shame. Im putting effort in. Everyone starts out at the bottom. Nobody was born superior. Ive seen so many girls struggle and be embarrassed to go to events. Afraid to be judged because they dont fit in. They feel over/under horsed, weaker, waste of time, out of place, maybe even feel like they dont belong due to the tack they have. DONT LET OTHERS RUIN YOUR FUN! Those hours you spend on your horse can build you, or break you. Be kind about what you say to others. For all you know that one comment could have just made Cindy lou never want to ride again. Or inspired her to strive and soar. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK. And never stop trying to better yourself. :)
