Photo of Elsa at intake and now after a month in foster care;-) Little Elsa was found by a good Samaritan in a thunderstorm on the metropark path. No collar, I.D. or microchip and no one has claimed her. We named her Elsa because she looks like a little Lion due to missing hair. She has been in a foster home getting healthy, so she can get the required surgery she needs. We will need to raise funds for her medical care before we can find her a forever home. Elsa is an approximately 8 year old female Pomeranian. She was evaluated at Avon Lake Animal Clinic by Dr. Lisa ODonnell: “ She is a sweet, loving, happy dog. However, Elsa is a senior dog that has some common senior dog issues which will require veterinary care. She has a cough that is caused by tracheal collapse, a common condition in the breed, that will require long term medications to try to control. We would recommend chest x-rays and possible evaluation of her heart. She has periodontal disease, hair loss and changes to her skin (which we think is due to hormone imbalance since she is not spayed), she needs spayed, and she has bilateral inguinal hernias that will need to be repaired. We should begin with a comprehensive health check done through the lab (complete blood count, serum chemistry, urinalysis, thyroid testing, heartworm and tick disease testing) to make sure that we address any underlying issues prior to anesthesia for dental care, spay, and hernia repair”. If you can help Elsa, please donate to her fund. We need to raise at least $900.00 to give this sweet dog a new healthy life. You can mail your donation to Love-A-Stray Attn: Elsa, P.O. Box 125, Avon Lake Oh 44012 or paypal on our website loveastraydog. If you are interested in adoption, please contact info@loveastraydog Thank you!
