Planning and Zoning Technician Opportunity SALARY: $18.60 - $26.97 Hourly $1,487.91 - $2,157.47 Biweekly $38,685.62 - $56,094.15 Annually JOB TYPE: Full-time; Regular Appointment OPENING DATE: 09/26/14 CLOSING DATE: Open until filled DESCRIPTION: Position Summary: Under general supervision is responsible for providing planning and zoning information to the public and works to provide requested information in an expeditious manner. Coordinates the comprehensive plan, land development regulations and special projects and prepares reports as necessary. Communication with City residents during the discussion of matters related to the City Zoning and Land Development Code and the City Comprehensive Plan, et al, including, but not limited to: Permit applications that need to be reviewed by Zoning, processing of Building permits and Certificate of uses as required under Zoning, assisting City residents in understanding portions of the codes as it may apply to proposed work they may wish to construct on their property, participating in public hearing presentations related to projects proposed for site plan review, variances, rezoning, Future Land Use Map amendments, drafting staff reports and public notice letters, and similar.
