Please do not accuse MCA anymore of being a coward for not standing in Bukit Gelugor by-elections. Please trust me when I say there were internal and external factors that were beyond MCAs control and that MCA really wanted to contest in Bukit Gelugor but did not do so. Some of these factors just cannot be disclosed. One of the reasons was for the greater good of BN and this was manifested in BNs major and unexpected victory in Teluk Intan. Voting day between Bukit Gelugor and Teluk Intan was only 6 days difference and both seats were for DAP to lose due to the high majority in GE13. Yesterdays victory in Teluk Intan was as much as victory for MCA as it was for Gerakan. MCA had mobilized a formidable team in Teluk Intan that included their President, his challenger Gan Ping Seu and Ong Tee Keat, their deputy and almost all their heavy-weight and machinery. This comradeship and partnership between MCA and Gerakan is in great contrast to last GE13 where certain local MCA leaders actually sabotaged Gerakans efforts. Lets be fair to MCA and applaud and thank them for their efforts.
