Please excuse my swearing in this video. You would probably swear too! So this morning I maidend my M690. How did it go you ask? Well first two flights were awesome. Very solid, very predictable flight and compared to my Wookong equipped hex the flight characteristics are Much Much better. Especially its ability to hold consistent altitude during fast forward flight and also a much more pleasant decent feel when coming down. Then the 3rd flight happened. I hate to call this a Flyaway but hey I have to call it like I see it and sure enough the M690 flew away. Luckily it decided to land itself before it got to the tree line. Here are the details of the 3rd flight. Fresh pack, 5800mah 30c pack, 4.18V/per cell. Took off in GPS mode, had all green lights and OSD indicated 9 satellites. At about 10 feet up the LED began to flash fast RED indicating low voltage. I looked at the OSD and it was indicating only 20v or 3.33v/per cell. Before I could bring it back down it rotated around and headed off toward the edge of the field and tree line, I flipped it into ATTI and was pulling full stick back but it wasnt listening to me. I though it was just going to keep flying away but it stopped several hundred feet out and came down for a nice soft landing. Far far away from where the home point was locked. So If it was truly the battery which failed or was incapable of supplying the necessary amps that still doesnt explain why it didnt just land back at its home point. Also it didnt initiate a failsafe as described it the manual where it rises to a predetermined height. It just headed off at the same height at which it went into fail safe mode. I flipped finally into return home mode before it did land. This battery only has eight flights on it to BTW. 5800mah at 30c should be capable of 174 amps, I would guess I was way under that Also the packs that I flew it with before this pack were smaller 5300mah packs. I will now load test the battery in question and see if it is repeatable. This will be a bench test because this hex is not going back up in the air until this is sorted out.
