Please help us pray for these needs regarding Lori and Jeremys - TopicsExpress

Please help us pray for these needs regarding Lori and Jeremys adoption: - The US Embassy is coming to Lubumbashi Sept 15-22 to do investigations for cases that are already through court. This is a required process in DRC adoptions. ***UPDATE***The US Embassy would not make an exception for our case, but we were told that we could file an incomplete i-600 and have a shot at the investigation this week. We immediately requested all docs from our agency to get this moving forward, but they failed to get us the docs in time. We are extremely frustrated with our adoption agency and attorney right now (for multiple reasons) and feel very much like we are on our own with this adoption. Please pray for wisdom moving forward. We have a Skype call with the director of the agency (again) on Thurs night where we will be discussing our frustrations and concerns that were communicated to them via email a few days ago. Because we have missed this investigation, we will likely have to fly the birth fathers to Kinshasa later on to do the investigations there. Otherwise, we would have to wait 6-12 months for the Embassy to come back to Lubumbashi. No thank you. : ) - We are speaking with the Congolese attorney tomorrow morning as well who has been overseeing our adoption here. We will be looking to gather all of the docs required for the investigation and for filing the papers at the Embassy on down the road. Please pray for favor with him and that the process is smooth. ***UPDATE***We have not yet met with this attorney, but we did get a few docs from the orphanage this week and have discovered some interesting info about the girls. The main attorney is scheduled to arrive in Lubumbashi next week, so we are hoping to finally get some additional answers when we meet him face-to-face. - The babys birth father is scheduled to show up in court this week on Wednesday to testify to his relinquishment of Moriah. Please pray that he actually makes it to town (he lives 4 hours away) and that the Judge President signs the Adoption Judgment on Wednesday. This has been delayed for over 2 months now. As soon as this Judgment is signed, we will be 30 days away from getting custody of the baby. ***UPDATE***The adoption judgment was signed! Praise the Lord! So in 30 days or so, we should have the Non-Appeal doc and then the Act of Adoption, which grants us parental rights in the eyes of the Congolese govt. She will be ours at that point and we will be able to take her from the orphanage to live with us. Segeras court date will be on Sept. 24 (hopefully). Please put that date on your calendar. We are hoping that her Judgment is signed on that date which would then initiate her 30-day waiting period before we can get custody of her too. - The Congolese Parliament is resuming session on Sept 15. There is much talk that they will be lifting the adoption suspension, although no one knows for sure. Please be praying for everyone involved in this decision making process and that the suspension would be officially lifted SOON and that we would be able to move forward with the process to bring the girls home. ***UPDATE***Nothing has been released as of yet since they just resumed session yesterday, but we are anxiously awaiting what the Parliaments decisions are regarding adoption. Please continue to pray for this one....its a biggie. Thanks so much for joining us in prayer!!
