Please help us welcome Finley! She is a 10 week old, deaf great - TopicsExpress

Please help us welcome Finley! She is a 10 week old, deaf great dane. She came into rescue through a good samaritan. The breeder had alienated her from the rest of the litter and kept her in a barn. They were planning to euthanize her because they “couldn’t get any money for her because she was deaf”. As they continued to talk, the breeder revealed that she also had a hip/leg injury. The good samaritan scooped her up, brought her home and contacted us. She has been evaluated and x-rayed by Dr. Tysklind at The Paw Patch. He has reported that Finley was injured such that it destroyed her top joint (hip) portion of both her pelvis and leg bone (femur). The top portion of the femur bone is healing and the lower portion is still growing. We hope it grows enough so that we do not have a great difference in the leg lengths and she has no real significant limp. She will need TLC, joint care products and follow up x-rays to continue to monitor/measure injured leg against healthy leg. With all that being said, we are going to be calling on all of our followers for help! Her vet bills (even with a very generous discount from Paw Patch/Dr. Tysklind) are expected to be quite high. Please check back often for different fund raising opportunities. In the meantime, how can YOU help? Donations directly to The Paw Patch for Finley’s care! Let them know you are donating to “Finley’s Fund”. The Paw Patch can be contacted at 317-293-8363. Donations through our website foreverfriendsgdri . Purchase items from her amazon wish list.
