Anndrea is one of the foremost experts interviewed in the incredible, award winning hemp documentary Bringing it Home, and she will host a lively Panel Discussion and Q&A session after this captivating 52-minute film. Instructor Anndrea Hermann, M.Sc, B.GS, P.Ag. is the President of the National Hemp Industries Association and has assisted with creating and reviewing hemp regulations in Canada, the European Union, South Africa, Uruguay, Australia, New Zealand, India, Vermont, Virginia, Tennessee, North Dakota, Missouri, Colorado, California, Oregon and Michigan, which regulations govern the hemp industry. Anndrea is also the President of Hemp Technologies Global; the Chief Development Science Officer, Hemp Division, of Creative Edge Nutrition; Advisor for Nutiva Foods; and she is the instructor for Oregon State University’s course WSE266 Industrial Hemp (ecampus, as she lives in Canada, where she is a dual-citizen). Since 2005, Anndrea has been a Health Canada Authorized Hemp THC Sampler and has advised Health Canada on a wide spectrum of Cannabis projects. INDUSTRIAL HEMP PANEL MODERATED BY ANNDREA HERMANN: • Dr. John Simonsen • Dave Seber • Joy Beckerman • Courtney Moran • Edgar Winters Dr. John Simonsen joined Oregon State University’s Department of Forest Products (now the Department of Wood Science and Engineering) in 1990, following a decade of working in small and medium-sized businesses in the chemical industry. Dr. Simonsen is presently a Professor in the OSU Department of Wood Science and Engineering, the OSU Materials Science Program and holds graduate status in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He is also a member of ONAMI (the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute) and the OSU Materials Institute. David Seber has been a leading advocate both nationally and internationally in the use of industrial hemp in building materials for over 20 years. He has pioneered the development of hemp MDF and other format construction panels, hemp and resin fiberglass, hemp and lime blown insulation and other aggregate applications. His most recent application development is the co-creation of Hemp Shield Wood Finish & Deck Sealer - the worlds first modern hemp oil containing industrial coating, manufactured in Eugene, OR. Joy Beckerman is President of the WA State Chapter of the Hemp Industries Association (“HIA”) and President of Hemp Ace International, an industrial hemp consulting and brokerage firm. She owned the first hemp store in New York in the early 1990’s, and was appointed by Rep. Fred Maslack to serve as the Secretary of the Vermont Hemp Council when the first Vermont hemp bill passed in 1996. In the last 16 years, Joy developed an extensive dual career as a complex civil litigation paralegal working with some of Seattle’s most distinguished attorneys. Joy is the recipient of the HIA’s 2014 Hemp Activist of the Year Award and works directly with law- and policy-makers. Courtney N. Moran, LL.M. is an Oregon attorney who advocates for agricultural industrial hemp. Courtney graduated magna cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School, earning a Master of Laws in Environmental & Natural Resources Law, with an emphasis in Industrial Hemp Law. She also completed the worlds first industrial hemp university course, offered at Oregon State University in the spring of 2013. In addition to Courtney’s public hemp awareness and educational events, she is devoted to improving industrial hemp policy and regulation in Oregon. Courtney is currently a solo practitioner in Portland for EARTH Law, LLC (Environmental Advocate Representing True Hemp Law, LLC). Edgar J. Winters is a long-time industrial hemp advocate, the COO of Natural Good Medicines, and the Director of Cannabis Research at Winterfox Farms. Edgar is actively involved in capitalization, development and acquisition of hemp and medicinal hemp-based consumer products and their supporting technologies. Edgar consults with farmers, law- and policy-makers, and retail establishments across the U.S. on the viability and profitability of Industrial Hemp. Edgar’s company Natural Good Medicines has been “Teaching the teachers” and “Training the trainers” in this up and coming commodity of Industrial Hemp.
