Please mark your calendar for these upcoming CRC special events. >> MAHS, on Monday, July 15, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at the Carnegie Resource Center, will present: Dr. Alan Outram – “The Fates of Viking Greenland and Iceland – 900 A.D.” Dr. Adrien Hannus – “Update of Activities at Blood Run Park” Each year in July we are privileged to hear these world class archeologists present video lectures about research of historic sites. Dr. Alan Outram Head of Archeology at the University of Exeter, Exeter, United Kingdom, and Dr. Adrien Hannus is Director of the Archeology Laboratory at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Both are at the Archeodome with 11 Exeter University students who are doing their annual “dig” at this very special site, known internationally, of Native American artifacts from the former plains village some 1,000 years ago on what was then Firesteel Creek and is now Lake Mitchell. The South Dakota Humanities Council helps support Dr. Hannus’ lecture. >> CRC Crazy Days Used Book Sale – Saturday, July 27, 2013, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Ron Fuchs has picked out “special” used books and will be selling them at “special” prices just for Summer Crazy Days in Mitchell. The money raised will benefit the Carnegie Resource Center. Note: This sale will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the west wing of the Carnegie Resource Center.
