Due to our expanding operational areas, SPOTS needs additional UAV/Drone pilots to fly our Air Ranger drones on operations. One of the first projects will be to address elephant poaching - a one month (August 2013) contract with the possibility to be extended. The Air Ranger drone is complex and a lot more than a RC airplane. The ability to fly at all hours both by line-of-site and FPV (first person view) is a pre-requisite, as is a good knowledge and ability to program flight control computers. Familiarization training on our systems will be provided. You will be required to work with SPOTS teams in the bush. You will therefore need to be comfortable with living in harsh conditions with minimal amenities etc. Good bush skills would therefore be advantageous. A valid RSA (or other) passport and a crime free record are a necessity. Airfare and accommodation will be covered. Compensation will be discussed during interview.
