Please share this: S 1416/ HR 1518, proposed by a junior senator from N Hampshire, enforces penalties against an already illegal practice of abusing horses. Tennessee Walking Horses, said to have some of the best dispositions among horse kind, are forced into those exaggerated steps (called licks) by burning their feet with chemicals and all sorts of cruel and atrocious practices. There is a bill before the senate and one before the house that would enforce penalties and inspection of such practices. Check it out on you-tube. Even Nightline news did an uncover video of this – unbelievable. At the moment, it is projected to have an only 27% chance of passing and has been moving through the Senate very slowly – for about a year, it looks like. If they get enough calls, maybe they’ll move on it.
