Please take a moment to remember this day, and those that were lost. 9/11 changed my life forever, it changed the direction I was going in life. It led me to want to serve the public somehow, and led me to K9 search and rescue. After watching the SAR dogs at Ground Zero for days, searching, until they dropped, exhausted, feet and nose bleeding. Seeing those handlers using those dogs to help find SOMETHING, so that a family could have closure. I decided this is how I would serve my community, and this is what we feel we were meant to do. As the years have gone by, every 9/11, I always step outside, and I literally feel exactly as I did that day. It feels like yesterday. If there is anything I can leave you with, it is that life is very precious, and sometimes too short. May you all be smiled upon today, and please remember to love your fellow human beings, as hard as it is sometimes. We are a better world when we offer love and kindness, I truly believe this.
