Polar vortex is incoming, which means that people without shelter will die of hypothermia this weekend. Especially in places like Texas, where whatever social infrastructure we DO have is generally unprepared for freezing temperatures. Lightweight, compact mylar sleeping bags are pretty cheap, and they will retain 90% body heat. For someone sleeping on the streets tonight and tomorrow, this could be the difference between life and death. I found a bunch of them at my local military supply store and theyre giving me a discount for buying all they have in stock. You can always find them at REI, camping stores, military surplus stores, but you can also sometimes find them at places like Target and Walmart. I encourage everyone in the US to call your local stores and find mylar blankets and bags, buy up what you can, and hand them out this evening. You can, quite literally, save lives, with very little effort, and for very little money. Please join me if you are able.
